The 5 senses

Hearing

Hearing is the one sense we can never fully switch off. We even hear while we sleep. Maybe that's exactly why we so rarely notice it.

And yet a single sound can change a lot. A familiar voice on the phone. A song that takes you back to one particular summer. Rain on the window. Or simply silence after a loud day.

Smell, taste, touch and sight bring you back to yourself. Hearing reminds you that you're not alone. Sometimes it's enough to hear someone say: I feel the same way. That's why, for me, hearing is one of the five senses.

Try it: close your eyes for a minute and just listen. What's close by, what's far away? You don't have to do anything with it. Just notice.
